QuickScan 2100

By default this scanner does't read the barcodes codified with the type Interlead 2 of 5 used to create the books labels.
To activate it you must download the manual of the scanner, open it on the screen, then print the pages:

  • 201 Interleaved 2 of 5 (I 2 of 5),
  • 209 Interleaved 2 of 5 (I 2 of 5) — cont.
  • 359-360 Appendix E Keypad.

These pages contains the barcodes we need to use in order to reprogram the scanner. <note> if you like you can use the scanner to read the barcodes directly on the pages displayed on the monitor, but having the pages printed simplify the work. </note>

Activate the type I2of5

this is to tell the scanner to activate the type i2of5.

  1. go to page 201
  2. scan the “ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE” barcode
  3. scan the “I 2 of 5 = Enable” barcode
  4. scan again the “ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE” barcode.
Define the minimum length of the barcode

You need to change the minimum length of the type I2of5 barcode from the default, that is 06, to 04.
In this occasion the scanner expect always a double digit number, so you must put a leading zero.

  1. go to page 209
  2. scan the “ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE” barcode
  3. scan the “Select I 2 of 5 Length 1 Setting” barcode
  4. go to page 359
  5. scan the “0” and “4” barcodes
  6. go to page 209
  7. scan the “ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE” barcode
Done

The scanner is now ready to scan the barcodes of the books and the barcodes of the Camipro cards without other configuration.

<note> If you wanted to play with the configuration of the scanner, you can reset the programmation to the default using the “Restore Custom Default Configuration” barcode on page 9 Resetting the Product Configuration to Defaults of the manual. </note>
